The Mission

Any written content you have, whether it’s a simple caption or a blog post or an article or even a book, for example, whatever text is representing you (and possibly your business), I want it to be presented to your audience with the highest level of quality possible.

When we come across content riddled with typos and errors, we may not take the associated person or business seriously. We may question their credibility, and they may be seen as unprofessional. I don’t want this for you.

Grammar and spelling and punctuation and word usage are not everyone’s forte. So, that’s where I come in. I provide proofreading and copyediting services for both individuals and businesses. But I am especially interested in entrepreneurs and small business owners and those of you who may not have the time or resources to double- and triple-check your content. Or you may have some incredible information to share but need an extra set of eyes to review your content because proofreading and copyediting simply aren’t your thing. And that’s okay! That’s what I’m here for.

I check content’s spelling, grammar, punctuation, word usage, and consistency, and I point out any other issues that may be potential concerns. However, I do not research or check facts, nor do I do any structural or developmental editing or line editing. (In the future, if I offer any of these services, I will post them here.) So, please have any of this type of editing completed prior to requesting my services. My role is simply to ensure you have a clean and polished result while preserving your voice and your message.

“Johnelle did an excellent job proofreading the copy for our web app. She was fast and thorough. Impressive!”

– Kate Harrison, Co-Founder & Head of Marketing at MoveEV

“Your services helped our organization grow and improve our business models. We’re proud to be part of your growing community and you can always count on us for continued support.”

– Haynes Harbour Group, Inc.

“I will definitely repost these with your edits and make sure I pass your information on. Your services are so needed, I know I will have some things coming up soon that I will need to hire you for. The one thing I don’t do is that proofreading and editing. Once I’ve written something, I’ve thought about it so much, I rarely catch things.”

– Dashia Andrews, PhD, Founder of She’s On Purpose
